Why Use Reminders?
In business dealings and social circles, "doing the right thing at the right time" is crucial.
"Give & Take" provides you with a smart reminder system deeply integrated with your ledger logic. It's not just a basic alarm; it automatically sends local notifications based on your debt status and customer cycles.
🔔 Three Types of Reminders
You can set different types of reminders for each contact or specific transaction based on the scenario:
1. 💰 Payment/Collection Reminder (One-time)
The most common use case. When you lend money or have a customer with an outstanding balance, set a specific deadline.
- Example: "Remind me tomorrow at 3 PM to collect the $500 from Boss Wang."
- How-to: In the Contact Details page, tap "Add Reminder", select "Once", and set the specific time.
2. 🔄 Recurring Tasks
Perfect for subscription fees, rent payments, or regular business check-ins.
- Frequency: Supports daily, weekly, monthly, or custom day intervals.
- Automation: As long as you don't manually disable it, the system will cycle local pushes according to the schedule.
3. ✅ Balance/Quota Warning
If you use the "Prepaid/Quota" template, the system automatically flags when a customer's remaining sessions are low.
- Tip: You can combine this with a manual "Renewal Follow-up" reminder for those specific customers.
🔒 Privacy: Why Deep Calendar Access is Not Required?
Many similar apps request access to your system calendar, which essentially exposes your private schedule to the application.
"Give & Take" insists on Local Push Notifications:
- Locally Triggered: All reminder logic runs entirely inside your device.
- No Intrusive Permissions: We use system notification permissions—we never read or modify your system calendar.
- Data Isolation: Your reminders work even offline. Even if we (the developers) were gone, these settings would remain functional on your device.
💡 Pro Tips
- Quick Action: Swipe left on a contact card from the home screen to quickly call up the reminder setting panel.
- Status Sync: Checking "Complete" in the notification popup will archive the task for future review.
- AI Command Capsule: Try saying: "Remind me at 10 AM tomorrow that Boss Wang needs to pay". The AI will create the reminder for you automatically.
"A dull pencil is better than a sharp memory, but a smart reminder is better than both."
